Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Rovik film-photography archive and local report tools.

Effective date: October 7, 2026 · Last updated: October 10, 2026

Please read these terms carefully. By downloading, accessing, or using Rovik, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. The service

Rovik helps film photographers record camera and roll information, shutter settings, exposure details, photographs, scans, voice notes, maintenance events, dial checks, and developed-frame outcomes. It can generate optional local archive reports from information stored on your device.

2. Eligibility and authority

You must be legally permitted to use the App Store and form this agreement. If you are under the age of legal majority, your parent or guardian must review and accept these terms where required. If you use Rovik for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

3. Local-device account and device responsibility

Rovik uses a random device identifier to restore its local-device account state and process account actions. It does not upload your photography archive for cloud sync. You are responsible for access to your device, device backups, and safeguarding photographs and notes. Resetting local data or deleting the app may permanently remove records that have not been exported or backed up.

4. Acceptable use

You may use Rovik only lawfully and for its intended photography-record and archive functions. You must not:

  • upload or process content that is unlawful, infringing, deceptive, abusive, or that violates another person’s privacy;
  • attempt to bypass purchase verification, usage limits, security controls, or provider restrictions;
  • reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, probe, or misuse Rovik except where applicable law expressly permits.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of photographs, audio, notes, and records you add. Photography content remains on your device unless you explicitly export it. You represent that you have the necessary rights and permissions for all content, including images or recordings of other people.

6. Local archive reports

Archive reports summarize the records you enter and are calculated on your device. They are organizational aids—not a guarantee of exposure, image quality, camera condition, shutter accuracy, repair need, or future results. Review important conclusions against original negatives, scans, exposure records, and professional testing.

7. Archive passes and coins

Rovik provides the number of free archive passes shown in the app. Each pass permanently unlocks a local report for one roll. After passes are used, a report consumes the displayed number of coins. Logging, importing, and editing remain free, and unlocked reports update without another charge. Coins are consumable digital items:

  • coins have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and cannot be redeemed outside Rovik;
  • pricing, pack sizes, and report unlock cost are displayed before purchase or use and may change prospectively;
  • purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple’s Media Services Terms and refund procedures;
  • a failed unlock should not consume a pass or coins; if the displayed balance appears incorrect, stop retrying and use the App Store support contact.

Except where required by law or Apple policy, consumed coins are not refundable. Deleting or resetting local app data may remove the locally maintained coin balance and does not reverse an App Store transaction.

8. Permissions and third-party services

Some features depend on camera, photo-library, microphone, network, StoreKit, Apple, and Cloudflare services. Their terms and privacy policies may also apply. Rovik is not responsible for third-party service outages or transaction delays.

9. Intellectual property

Rovik, its visual identity, interface, software, and original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control as permitted by Apple’s usage rules. No ownership rights are transferred to you.

10. Availability and changes

We may improve, modify, suspend, or discontinue features, including free-pass allowances, coin costs, and provider integrations. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Where practical, changes will not retroactively remove rights already required by law.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rovik is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, or preservation of data. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rovik’s developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost photographs, lost data, lost profits, equipment damage, or reliance on locally calculated summaries arising from your use of Rovik. Any liability that cannot be excluded is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Rovik during the preceding twelve months or the minimum amount required by law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so they may not apply to you.

13. Indemnity

Where permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for claims and costs arising from your unlawful use of Rovik, your violation of these terms, or content you submit without required rights. This section does not apply where prohibited by consumer law.

14. Termination

You may stop using Rovik at any time. We may restrict access to network or commerce functionality if you materially violate these terms, threaten service security, or misuse providers. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and responsibility for content—will survive.

15. Apple-specific terms

This agreement is between you and Rovik’s developer, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Rovik or its support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. If Rovik fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price for the app, if any, as required by Apple’s rules. Apple has no other warranty obligation to the extent permitted by law.

16. Governing rules and disputes

Applicable mandatory consumer laws remain in effect. Any dispute should first be raised through the support contact on Rovik’s App Store product page so the parties can attempt an informal resolution. If it cannot be resolved, the dispute will be handled by courts or authorities that have jurisdiction under applicable law. These terms do not require arbitration or waive rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

17. Changes and contact

We may update these terms to reflect feature, provider, legal, or operational changes. The revised date will appear above. Continued use after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

Questions may be directed to the Rovik developer through the support contact on Rovik’s App Store product page. Include “Rovik Terms Question” and do not send credentials or sensitive photographs.
